Carnival Elation - Bahamas
Often with cruises to the Bahamas, there are not many ports of call offered; not this time. Leaving from Port Canaveral, Florida, the 4-day cruise visits Freeport and Nassau, Bahamas, and gives passengers the opportunity to stay overnight in Nassau.

Nassau is a beautiful place with white-sand beaches, coconut palms offering dappled shade on the sand, and warm, clear, azure waters. Oh, and did we mention the duty-free shopping!, Freeport has some great beauty, as well, but besides the beauty of its beaches, you can enjoy the quaint, colonial-esque walkways and markets.

Located on 55-acres of the 2,400-acre Little San Salvador Island, the award-winning Half Moon Cay is an idyllic setting where you can go horseback riding, play with stingrays, or languidly swirl the umbrella in your drink. Grand Turk is the capital island of the Turks and Caicos. Take the time to explore Cockburn town or perhaps the coral cities under the water's surface.

Carnival Elation - Eastern Caribbean
Leaving from Galveston, Texas, Carnival Elation heads east towards adventure! You'll find lots of natural attractions, perfect for watersports and inland exploration, as well as historical sites and modern, vibrant diversions.

San Juan, Puerto Rico, grew from a small village to a town with cobblestone streets and is now a modern world capital. What's great about this place, however, is that none of the past is erased; the city is a living timeline that you can explore, as evident in the culture and the distinctive architecture of the Spanish who founded it.

St. Thomas, USVI, is home of Bluebeard's Tower, named after the infamous pirate that roamed the coasts of these islands hundreds of years ago. Whether you're looking for jewels, crystal, perfume and fine wines in the shops of Charlotte Amalie, or just a spot to put your beach towel, you shouldn't have any problem.

Carnival Elation - Accommodations

Wouldn't it be a bummer to be all excited about your week's trip to the Western Caribbean only to walk into your stateroom for the first time and not like what you see. Thankfully, you won't run into that problem here! Carnival Elation gives her guests the chance to start and end their days in comfort before going to see exotic ports of call in the Western Caribbean.

Regardless of what type of room you choose-the modest, but surprisingly spacious, interior cabin or the luxurious suite-your stateroom will have at the very least carpeted floors, spacious drawers and closets, a private bathroom, a telephone, and a color television. The same attention to detail was given in making each room a comfortable place in which to greet and say good night to the day.

Carnival Elation - Activities

Whoever said cruise ships made unhealthy vacations never sailed on Carnival Elation. Play a game of basketball, enter a ping pong tournament, or run laps around the Nautica Jogging Track on the Sun Deck. Of course, when you're not frolicking in the waves at a port of call, you can make due with the three pools onboard.

Visit the Sports Deck and work out in the deluxe fitness area; there are aerobics and weight-training sections. Of course, that doesn't even begin to touch all the shore excursions that will get your heart pumping. Still, you have to relax sometime, and the Spa is the best place for it. Pamper yourself in the Beauty Salon with a new hairstyle, pedicure, or facial. You can also get a full-body massage or relax in the steam rooms and sauna.

The Atlantic Deck's Galleria is a wonderful place to buy a few keepsakes, jewelry, clothing, and liquors.

Carnival Elation - Entertainment

It's Las-Vegas entertainment at the Mikado Lounge, where the only place you could see it any better is in Nevada itself. After the show, meet up with friends at Drama Bar or Great Gatsby's Bar. Then it's time to dance and shake it up a little at Jekyll & Hyde Dance Club or Romeo & Juliet until the sun is a distant memory.

If you'd like just bob your head to smooth jazz riffs, visit the Cole Porter Club. Or, listen to a pianist tickle the ivories in Duke's.

Before your trip is over, stop by the Casablanca Casino, where you can cross your fingers, shut your eyes, and let 'em fly! Try not to say something corny like, "Papa needs a new pair of shoes." Blackjack, roulette, poker, slots, craps, and more... Ask the friendly staff there about Mega Cash, the largest cruise ship jackpot in the world.

Movies on Carnival Elation are always a possibility, but for something a little more quiet, make your way down to the Mark Twain Library, a secluded retreat that provides guests with more than a great selection of books; solitude and relaxation are also on the shelves and in the pages.

Carnival Elation - Dining

Carnival Dining

I could go on and on about how great the dining experience is onboard, which would be the truth, but words cannot do it justice; your taste buds would be much better off if you just tried it for yourself.

The best thing about the Inspiration Dining Room isn't the cuisine and it isn't the great service; it's the fact that you can order as much off the menu as you want! New York strip steak, surf and turf, Alaskan king crab, lobster tail, free range chicken, lamp chops, and veal chops-take your pick or pick them all!

Tiffany's Bar & Grill serves tasty entrees and sides, friendly and quick service, and a view that beats anything a land restaurant can offer! Nearby are a 24-hour Pizzeria and several snack bars! Visit the sushi bar, the European-style cafes, the buffets, and more.
