Holland America's 2006 Schedule Will Feature 13 Ships, Sailing to Destinations on All Seven Continents

In 2006, HAL plans to offer its guests more options then ever before!
Among the exciting new changes will be the addition of Holland America's newest and grandest ship to date, the very impressive ms Noordam. The newest addition the Vista-Class family of ships, this large, yet elegant vessel will make her debut in February, offering 10 and 11-day roundtrip sailings to the islands of the Eastern and Southern Caribbean. It will also offer two 16-day transatlantic voyages, and fifteen 10-day Mediterranean cruises from Rome, Italy.
With the addition of the ms Noordam, Holland America will now boast a spectacular 13-ship fleet. In 2006, these 13 luxurious vessels will offer more than 500 itineraries ranging from two to 108 days in length, from more 25 home ports, to beautiful destinations all around the world and on all seven continents! This will include eight different ships offering 159 sailings to Alaska from Vancouver and Seattle, Holland America's first ever visits to several exotic new ports including the African nation of Libya, South Georgia in the Sub-antarctic Islands, and Narvik, Norway, as well as a number of new voyages to Australia and New Zealand!
"We will be offering more cruises to more destinations in 2006 and guests will have more choices of itineraries and homeports," said Richard D. Meadows, CTC, senior vice president, marketing and sales.
2006 will also see the return of a number of past favorites, including a wide variety of itineraries to the Caribbean, Canada/New England, Europe, Mexico, Hawaii, the Panama Canal, and South America. The ms Prinsendam will again be exploring the lush wilderness of Brazil and the Amazon River on two 28-day excursions. The ms Prinsendam will also host the spectacular 2006 Grand World Voyage, "Circle of the Sun." This unbelievable 108-day journey will depart from Ft. Lauderdale on January 5th, and travel to 36 ports, in 22 countries, on six continents, including South America, South and East Africa, India, the Mediterranean, and Antarctica!
Guests will also be able to enjoy a number of exciting new onboard features such as the exclusive new Culinary Arts Center and the Explorations Cafe powered by the New York Times, which will be available by the fall of 2006 on all 13 ships as a part of Holland America's ongoing Signature of Excellence enhancements.
