There is electricity buzzing in the air and anticipation skimming across the water; rumors of a cruise ship so unlike anything that has come before that it will steal the breath of those who see it. It's Royal Caribbean's Freedom of the Seas, and it is about to crest the horizon and lead cruising into another era.
Royal Caribbean's Freedom of the Seas will be the largest cruise ship to ever float on the seas. Constructed at Kvaerner Masa-Yards in Finland, at 158,000 tons and able to carry 3,600 passengers, it even surpasses the enormity Queen Mary 2. It will be the most pioneering and advanced cruise ship in existence, with flat screen TVs in all of the staterooms and public areas, and a navigational and security system that utilizes the most sophisticated technology at hand. Plus, it will have more onboard amenities and features than on anything else at sea.
"Freedom of the Seas will be the most head-turning, most innovative and most forward-looking ship in the cruise industry," said Richard D. Fain,Royal Caribbean Chairman and CEO. "Its name was chosen deliberately to convey the enormity of features and amenities offered on this extraordinary ship." When she makes her debut in April of 2006, it will be the beginning of amazing 7-night, year-round Eastern and Western Caribbean voyages from Miami.
Starting February 28th and until March 14th, members of Royal Caribbean's Crown & Anchor Society will be able to acquire advance reservations for cabins on this ground-breaking vessel. To become a member of the Crown & Anchor Society, you have to have had completed at least one Royal Caribbean cruise. Call one of our Certified Cruise Specialists to enroll in the Crown and Anchor program. Those who are not members of the Crown & Anchor Society will be able to reserve cabins after the 14th of March.
