Carnival Enhances Bedtime Luxury
June 10, 2005
As part of their ongoing "Today's Carnival" fleet-wide product enhancement program and continuing efforts improve the already outstanding "Fun Ship" onboard experience, Carnival Cruise Lines recently announced a number of new and exclusive stateroom amenity upgrades that will soon be available on every ship in the Carnival fleet. Among these new upgrades will be an innovative new stateroom sleep system manufactured exclusively for Carnival Cruises.
The Carnival Comfort Bed ensemble, including plush custom pillows, luxurious duvet and cover, pillowcases, and pillow-top mattress set, will provide an unsurpassed level of comfort and lavishness in shipboard sleep accommodations aboard each one of Carnival's current 21 mega-vessels. A restful, luxurious sleep is an important component of the overall vacation experience," said Bob Dickinson, president and CEO of Carnival Cruise Lines, "and we are extremely excited about this opportunity to brand a high-quality sleep system with the Carnival name.
Manufactured in Europe, the Carnival Comfort Bed features an eight-inch spring mattress designed exclusively for Carnival Cruises. Completing the custom sleep system is a duvet made from 100 percent hypoallergenic down, and sheets made of a high quality cotton blend. The duvet covers and pillowcases are made of an ultra-fine, ring-spun, satin-striped cotton blend, creating a luxurious and comfortable sleep environment. The material is also highly durable for longer-lasting use and visual appeal.
New Generation Pillows, made of non-allergenic micro fiber to create a fluffy, down-like consistency, will also be featured in all staterooms. In suite accommodations, guests will have the luxury of choosing what type of pillow suits them best. A special "suite pillow menu" will allow these guests to choose from a variety of different pillow types for their sleeping comfort, including a ultra-soft and luxurious goose down, and a firmer latex pillow. Introduction of the new bedding system, which is already available on several Carnival ships, is expected to be implemented fleet-wide by the end of this year.
"Over the past decade, we have enhanced nearly every aspect of the shipboard experience," stated Dickinson. "As our guests have become more discerning, we have implemented these upgrades in our ongoing commitment to continue to exceed all guests expectations."
Among other stateroom upgrades that are a part of Carnival's fleet-wide enhancement program include high-quality fluffy bath and hand towels, plush terrycloth bathrobes in all ocean-view and above staterooms, in-shower soap and shampoo dispensers, and in-cabin amenities baskets containing a variety of name-brand product samples such as shampoo, soap, lotion, and body wash. Stainless steel ice buckets and attractively bound ship directories complete the new high-end, more luxurious feel of every Carnival stateroom.
In addition to the line's current 21 spectacular ships, Carnival Cruise Lines also currently has two 110,000-ton Super Liners under construction in Europe. The Carnival Liberty and the Carnival Freedom are scheduled to debut sometime between now and February 2007, both of which are sure to bring a host of new innovative and luxurious onboard features and amenities to the ever-changing Carnival cruise fleet.
