Princess Cruises continues to focus on amazing destinations around the world with the announcement of new and fascinating programs to the ancient treasures of Asia. With a 25 percent increase in capacity, the cruise line has solidified its leadership hold on the Asia market, offering more opportunities for discovery, more variety and a choice of two fabulous ships sailing in both summer and fall.
Princess Cruises' passengers are invited to further explore cultures of the region from the tastes, sights and sounds of the modern cities to the ancient and religious monuments in the outskirts. Enjoy a whirlwind of activity in Hong Kong, the tea houses in Shanghai and then explore historical battlefields in Singapore. Princess Cruises - China & Far East
Scheduled to carry more people than ever in 2006, Princess Cruises to Asia include an enhanced route for the China & Far East cruise. The Sapphire Princess will now call upon a new port for Princess Cruises, Kagoshima, Japan, which is known for the incredible and ancient Iso Garden. This 12-day cruise from Beijing to Osaka also stops in Taipei, Okinawa; Dalian, Shanghai (overnight) and Pusan. Sapphire Princess sails on this new itinerary on October 2, 2006.
Princess Cruises - Southeast Asia & India
Also debuting in 2006 is a Southeast Asia & India voyage that will feature the colorful new port, Sihanoukville, Cambodia, gateway to the legendary temple of Angkor Wat and will also include the country's capital, Phnom Penh. This new 15-day journey between Bangkok and Mumbai includes not only the new port of Sihanoukville, Cambodia, but also calls in Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam), Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Phuket, Colombo (Sri Lanka) and Goa (India). Pacific Princess offers two sailings of this itinerary, August 17 and September 1, 2006.
Princess Cruises - Australia & Asia
Sapphire Princess offers the wonderful experience of Australia & Asia in one trip. Travel from Singapore to Sydney on a 19-day route that features Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh City, Bali, Darwin, Cairns, Cid Harbour (for the Great Barrier Reef), and Brisbane. Sapphire Princess heads "Down Under" on a special holiday voyage departing December 23, 2006.
Princess Cruises - Alaska & Far East
Also among the "best of both worlds" itineraries is the Alaska & Far East combination cruise. A 15-day voyage sailing from Anchorage (Whittier) to Beijing, Sapphire Princess takes passengers to Kodiak, Adak (Aleutian Islands), Petropavlovsk, Sapporo, Tokyo (Yokohama) and Nagasaki.
