Princess Cruises Offering More Options in the Mexican Riviera

July 05, 2005

Princess Cruises' majestic Golden Princess will introduce her first West Coast cruise itineraries ever beginning next cruise season as part of Princess' spectacular new Mexican Riviera cruise program, which will be taking place throughout the 2006 and 2007 cruising seasons. These very special itineraries will feature a wide array of exciting south-of-the-border cruises departing from the convenient west coast port cities of San Francisco and Los Angeles, California.

In all, a total of three ships, including Princess Cruises' Diamond Princess, Golden Princess, and Island Princess, will continue Princess' presence and legacy in Mexico with the same itineraries that first brought the cruise line to high prominence. Diamond Princess will sail the line's classic roundtrip voyages from Los Angeles, with an additional special holiday voyage aboard Island Princess. Golden Princess will make her West Coast debut with roundtrip sailings from San Francisco and a one-way voyage from Acapulco, Mexico.

"The Mexican Riviera is where Princess started, and we continue to offer the region's best cruise experience," said Jan Swartz, senior vice president of customer service and sales for Princess Cruises. "Our amenity-filled vessels offer more balconies than any other line in Mexico, making a Princess ship the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing breakfast overlooking Cabo's majestic Los Arcos, or watching Puerto Vallarta's scenic Banderas Bay during sail away."

Passengers departing from Los Angeles can choose between 31 weekly cruises aboard the Diamond Princess, or Island Princess' incredible holiday sailing, which departs December 20, 2006. Both ships sail on the line's classic seven-day roundtrip itinerary featuring port calls at Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan and Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Diamond Princess departs on this magnificent voyage every Saturday between September 23, 2006 and April 28, 2007.

Passengers departing from the beautiful city of San Francisco will travel aboard the elegant Golden Princess for her first set of West Coast cruise itineraries in her young career, which will include two 10-day roundtrip sailings featuring stops in Acapulco, Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo, Puerto Vallarta, and Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, offered on April 12 and 22, 2007. The ship also sails on a seven-day voyage between Acapulco and San Francisco on April 5, 2007, with port calls at Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo, Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, and Cabo San Lucas.

All Princess Mexican Rivera cruises feature some of the most amenity-filled vessels in the Princess fleet, with an impressive array of fine features and amenities such as Princess Cruises' signature Personal Choice Dining Program, the opulent Lotus Spa and fitness center, extensive children and teen programming, wedding chapels, internet cafes, and an extensive variety of world-class entertainment options and venues, all in an intimately designed, personalized environment also offering Princess Cruises' award-winning service with a smile. Together, Diamond Princess, Golden Princess, and Island Princess offer the most balcony staterooms available for Mexican Riviera cruises in the entire cruise industry, which are perfect for enjoying Mexico's warm tropical breezes, stunning sea views, sizzling summer nights, and breathtaking sunsets.
