Discovery World Cruises Now One of Select Few Cruising Galapagos Islands

Having negotiated access to the tightly restricted cruising region of the Galapagos Islands, the line's MV Discovery will now join the select few cruise ships allowed to visit the rare wildlife and tortured volcanic landscape of Ecuador's San Cristobal Island.
As the first non-Ecuadorian ship to gain permission to these highly protected lands, MV Discovery, which flies the Bahamian flag, has an occupancy level of 650 but will be capped at 500 passengers for the Galapagos Islands tours. The ship will remain in these waters for three days during each visit and passengers will be tendered ashore to the land where time has seemed to stand still for eons. The Galapagos Islands flourish with exotic, one of kind encounters with marine iguanas, giant tortoises, sea lions and rare birds like the blue-footed boobies that parade among age-old rocks, unbothered by your presence.
