On schedule to debut in February of next year, Holland America's newest mega-ship, the ms Noordam, will come fully loaded with all of the line's latest Signature of Excellence Enhancements, an extraordinary $225 million product and service enhancement initiative aimed at making Holland America's award winning onboard experience even more incredible. Changes will range from the addition of cutting edge facilities in many of the ship's public spaces, to even more luxurious amenities offered in every stateroom.
The fourth vessel in Holland America's Vista-class family of ships, which currently includes the ms Westerdam, Oosterdam, and Zuiderdam, the 81,769 ton, 1,848 passenger ms Noordam will be a state-of-the-art and highly innovative addition to not only the Holland America fleet, but also to the cruise industry in general.
"We are delighted to introduce the ms Noordam as our first new ship fully equipped with all Signature of Excellence enhancements when she sails from the shipyard early next year," said Rick Meadows, senior vice president of marketing and sales for Holland America Cruise Line. "She'll head into service on our newest Caribbean itinerary providing guests sailing from New York City with the top premium experience in the cruise industry."
Some of the ms Noordam's major Signature of Excellence attributes will include the innovative Culinary Arts Center at sea presented exclusively by Food & Wine Magazine, the new Explorations Cafe, a cyber coffee house powered exclusively by the New York Times, a larger Pinnacle Grill and new Pinnacle Bar, an expanded and even more opulent Greenhouse Spa and Salon, upgraded youth facilities that will include a special Teen-only loft area, and the ultra elite Pinnacle Wine Bar, a unique new addition being offered exclusively aboard the ms Noordam that will provide guests with a wide selection of fine wines from around the world.
The Noordam will also offer some of the most spacious and luxurious accommodations offered anywhere in the cruise industry today. A whopping 87 percent of the available 924 staterooms aboard will feature spectacular ocean views. Also, all staterooms will feature Holland America's now signature plush Euro-top Mariner Beds, deluxe waffle/terry cloth robes, flat panel TVs, DVD players, magnifying make-up mirrors with halo lighting, massaging shower heads, professional salon hair dryers, and a complimentary silver basket filled with delicious fresh fruit upon arrival.

All guests in the ultra-luxurious verandah suites will enjoy personalized phone concierge service to assist with special requests such as spa or dinner reservations, room service orders, as well as a host of other needs. The Neptune Lounge will also offer a place of refuge for all suite guests, providing full concierge services, as well as a place to grab a snack, work, read, chat with fellow passengers, or just simply relax.
