Exciting Canada/New England Cruise Offerings from Holland America
August 01, 2005
It's August already, and the height of the highly anticipated 2005 Canada/New England cruise season is right around the corner! As one of the most popular destinations in the cruise industry today, the demand for Cruises to Canada and New England is higher now than ever before, with available space aboard cruise ships filling up months in advance. As a result, Holland America is adding several new itinerary options to its already highly sought after 2006 Canada/New England cruise offerings.
One major addition to Holland America's 2006 Canada/New England sailings will be a stop in a brand new port of call never before visited by Holland America. A call on the charming port of Saguenay, Quebec, Canada, located in the magnificent Saguenay Fjord area, will be a part of just one fresh new itinerary being offered in the region. Other exciting changes will include more Eastern Canada/New England cruises, as well as the addition of a second ship to the region. The ms Amsterdam will join the ms Maasdam to feature four 10-day cruises that will highlight all of Canada and New England's most spectacular sites, attractions, and incredible fall foliage that the region is famous for the world over, including a day-long stop in the new port of Saguenay. Together, the two ships will sail a total of 22 Canada/New England cruises between April 28 to October 7, 2006.
"The Canada/New England cruising region is really an up and comer for our industry, especially among families seeking summer cruises," said Richard D. Meadows, senior vice president of marketing and sales for Holland America Cruise Line. "We're especially excited to add the new port of Saguenay in 2006. Saguenay is surrounded by three national parks, including a marine preserve, so the opportunities for wildlife and marine viewing, kayaking, fishing, and flight-seeing [tours] are exceptional."
Holland America Canada/New England cruises also offer a host of exciting shore excursions that passengers can take advantage of while visiting each of these incredible ports of call. In the beautiful new port of Saguenay, Quebec, guests can embark on an adventuresome kayaking trip, attempt the age-old logging practice of tree-topping, or admire those graceful giants of the deep on an amazing whale-watching expedition. In addition, passengers can also take the fascinating Anne of Green Gables tour on Prince Edward Island, explore the Cabot rail and 18th century French fortress in Halifax, or visit the Arcadia National Park near Bar Harbor, Maine, just to name a few! As always, guests will also always be able to enjoy the extraordinary onboard service and luxurious features and amenities that Holland America is famous for.
Holland America begins its 2006 Canada/New England cruise season with the Maasdam's 15-day cruise from Ft. Lauderdale to Montreal departing Apr. 28, 2006. The ship will call on Charleston, South Carolina; Norfolk, Virginia; New York City; New London, Conn.; Newport, Rhode Island; Bar Harbor, Maine; Halifax and Sydney, Nova Scotia; and Quebec City, Quebec.
