Table for 2? Check out Seabourn Cruises' Brand New Thing
October 12, 2005
What makes the dining and culinary experience on the Yachts of Seabourn stand out from what most of the other cruise lines offer? Is it the menu items created by world-renowned chef, Charlie Palmer? The Vintage Seabourn program, which gives guests the chance to purchase great wines from the yachts' cellars (see"Wine About It," Oct 5th Cruise News)? The casual, yet elegant, restaurants accompanying guests on all the Seabourn Cruises"
Yes. Yes. And yes. But also because of yet another one of Seabourn Cruises' new concepts in onboard dining: 2.
2 is the name of a latest dining venue that will offer guests a sort of "double your pleasure" experience when they sit down for dinner. Slated to begin in March, 2006, the Veranda Café casual venue that serves great lunches during the day will be transformed into 2 during the evening. This new restaurant will feature dinners that are made up of several two-per-course dishes prepared by two chefs. Instead of one entrée, guests will be given two small plate dishes during each course, with 5 or six courses served each dinner.
So, yes, while it makes for two desserts (a notion appreciated by chocolate lovers everywhere), it also turns the dining experience into something akin to the process of stopping at several ports of call during a cruise. Just as guests get to sample many different flavors of several destinations during a single Seabourn Cruises voyage, they are also able to sample several different flavors and recipes—many of which are taken from regions through which the ship is sailing—during a single meal. Think of dinner as a bunch of shore excursions for your taste buds.
While entrance to 2 requires reservations, there is no additional charge to Seabourn Cruises passengers, about 50 of whom can sit down during a dinner. Those passengers who reserve a table will be treated to dishes like Lobster Bisque and a delectable Seafood Croquette. For dessert? How about vanilla beignets with caramel apple, fudge, and chocolate with ice pralines of milk chocolate. (How much longer until lunch?)
But the 4 Star cuisine doesn't mean that guests are required to dress in tuxedos and evening gowns (although, they're welcome to). Rather, smart casual is all that is required. With Seabourn Cruises, you're given 100% luxury with 0% pretension.
While guests are experiencing the Seabourn Cruises' Signature Delights in 2, their yacht could be headed to any number of destinations around the world, such as the Caribbean, the Mediterranean, or South America. As a top of the line cruise agency, Cruise Network is in a unique position to offer these Seabourn cruises to our clients at very valuable rates.
