Liberty of the Seas for All

Royal Caribbean's Freedom of the Seas, the 158,000-ton Freedom Class cruise ship that will be released on July 4, 2006, has a new twin sister: Liberty of the Seas. The second Royal Caribbean ship in the Freedom Class, she will hold the record with Freedom of the Seas as the largest cruise ship afloat.
The announcement that a name was chosen was made recently at Cruise3sixty, a three-day Cruise Line International Association (CLIA) event in Ft. Lauderdale, which was geared to travel agents. It's clear that the cruise line is sticking to its tried and true monikers, all of which end in "of the Seas." Another tried and true feature that Royal Caribbean is sticking to is that of constantly trying to awe its passengers.
Royal Caribbean Cruise Line's Freedom of the Seas has received so much attention and is being anticipated by so many people not only because of its size, but also because of its unique and groundbreaking onboard features. Its onboard water park, the H2O Zone, its rock-climbing wall, the cantilevered whirlpools, and the onboard surf pool called the Flowrider have made Freedom of the Seas' July 4th sailing a highly anticipated event.
One can only imagine that Liberty of the Seas will have just as many amazing features as her Freedom Class counterpart. In a day and age when cruise lines constantly have to be innovative and venturesome with their ships' features, it is likely that Liberty of the Seas will keep the jaw-dropping features coming. Of course, that includes itineraries.
When Liberty of the Seas is released in spring '07, she will be based in Miami and offer alternating seven-night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries with departures on Saturdays.
