Holland America Line ms Amsterdam

Named for the city of Amsterdam in Northern Holland, Holland America Cruise Line's ms Amsterdam truly holds up to the excitement that her name so fondly reflects. A brilliant little city unto itself, ms Amsterdam is the flagship of Holland America's five-star fleet, the very best of cruise ships. While sailing destinations such as Alaska, Hawaii and the South Pacific, the Amsterdam gracefully combines classic appeal with modern features.

The Astrolabe clock tower, which is the centerpiece of the ms Amsterdam's soaring atrium, keeps world time, local time, as well as the alignment of the constellations and planets. It's a masterful work of art. Through fine woods, vibrant colors and original artwork, Holland America ms Amsterdam reflects a traditional shipboard elegance while an Internet center, a sports bar and a children's activity room keep her on par with technology and modern standards. In addition, her revolutionary Azipod propulsion allows for longer port stays due to this new technology, as it provides increased speed and fuel efficiency.

Holland America Line ms Amsterdam - Destinations & Itineraries

The ms Amsterdam could perhaps be described as a luxurious vagabond of the seas, since she travels to so many different places. Not only does she herself visit many different areas of the globe, but the ports of call at which she stops are often not found with other cruise lines.

ms Amsterdam 15-Day Circle Cruise Hawaii
The beautiful flora and the huge canyon carved by wind and water will take your breath away when you visit Kauai, the Garden Isle of the Pacific. Marvel at the cliffsides of the steep Na Pali Coast, unapproachable by anything but helicopter. Or, try your hand (and feet) at surfing in one of the best places in the world: Maui. Of course, if this is your first time, you might want to just watch; the wave can swell to 70 feet in winter.

ms Amsterdam 14-Day Classic Passage to Ireland and Northern Europe
Leave from New York City and head to the emerald isles and rocky coasts of Ireland and Northern Europe. It will take a while to get there from New York; the only stop in the first seven days is the beautiful city of St. John's, Newfoundland. Still, once you make your first port of call in Cork and then Dublin, Ireland, it will have been well worth the wait. (Of course, it doesn't hurt that you have a ship as amazing as the ms Amsterdam in which to wait!)
