Orient Lines – Ship Facts

The 578-foot Marco Polo was built in 1965 by Mathias-Thesen Werft in Germany. It was rebuilt between 1991 and 1993 under the supervision of Knud Hansen, naval architects, and A&M Katzourakis, ship designer. As the only vessel of the Orient Cruise Line, the Marco Polo transports up to 826 passengers and 350 crewmembers. She travels at a cruising speed of up to 19.5 knots per hour and is registered in the Bahamas.
